Unfortunately, our current governor, and my opponent in the Democratic primary, is the poster child for money in politics. She has raised record amounts of money, most of it from out-of-state. The media, although it is a public institution, lives off money. The first thing they ask you is how much money you have. And if they don’t like the answer, they freeze you out. (In fairness, that’s not all journalists.) The simple act of electing me governor would send a message. Elections should be based on the content of your character, not the content of your campaign fund. If elected, I will work for the reversal of the Citizens United decision, and I will promote laws that reduce money in politics. This is important.
